Ivan Ivanov is elected for chairman of Governing board of “Bulgarian ViK Holding” EAD. The recent director of water utility of Shumen – Iliyan Iliev will manage the operations of the new structure.
The President of Bulgarian Water Association (BWA) Ivan Ivanov is elected for chairman of Governing board of “Bulgarian ViK Holding” EAD. The other two members of the Governing Board are the recent director of water utility of Shumen – Iliyan Iliev and Ventsislav Todorov, past manager of Samokov region of Sofia water utility. Iliyan Iliev is appointed to manage the operations of the new structure.
The Governing Board has been elected on 28 April 2020 from the Oversight Board of the holding, consisting of five people and appointed by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) – Petya Avramova. Chairman of the Oversight Board is prof. Nikolay Lisev, head of “Hydraulics and Hydrology” department and lecturer in the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), Sofia.
The Board’s structure also includes two representatives of MRDPW – Yura Yordanova-Vitanova, being Vice-chairman and Atanas Boyadzhiev. The other two members will be Galin Zhelev from Ministry of Finance and Roumen Arsov – lecturer in “Water supply and sanitation” department in UACEG and member of many professional organizations.
Impending action is the Holding has to be inscribed in the Commercial Register of the Registry Agency.
The resolution for creation of “Bulgarian ViK Holding” EAD was taken by the Council of Ministers on 16 January 2020. The Holding has 100% state part and has principal in the face of Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works. Its statute’s capital is 1 billion BGN.
The creation of the new structure has key significance for the development of water supply and sanitation sector. The coordination and management control of water utilities will be improved with the help of the Holding. The organization will not confide public procurements’ procedures being financed by Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020 – the water utilities remain stand-alone juridical entities, beneficiaries under the Operational Programme.
